Derek Stricklin MS, LPC
Teen Counselor

Derek Stricklin is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes as a teen counselor. Derek has worked with at-risk youth in many settings for over twenty years all across the state of Missouri. His focus has been kids who are exhibiting maladjustment issues. He works with teens who are having behavior problems. Derek understands that teens sometimes get themselves in trouble and need help getting back on the right path.
 
Derek also has specialized training in trauma and a lot of experience in helping youth with sexual maladjustment issues. If your teen has experienced a trauma, Derek understands the difficulties that he or she may be facing. And he can provide the supportive environment that your teen needs to heal.
 
As a teen counselor, Derek believes in a person centered approach to help find the source of what might be the cause of one’s problems. He works from the promise that most individuals want to live a stress-free life and want to belong to something. In working with clients, Derek uses a variety of techniques depending on the client’s need.
 
Derek believes family involvement is a must for youth and children, so greater strides can be made in therapy.

 
Derek has afternoon and evening availability in our Farmington location.

Derek enjoys fishing, hunting, gardening. He also spends his free time watching hockey and spending time with his kids.
