Shelby Hailey MA, LPC, NCC
Counselor
Shelby is a child and teen counselor who specializes in counseling for anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, and other stressor-related problems. In her counseling sessions, Shelby creates a safe place for children and teens to explore and collaboratively work together. She believes in her client’s unique ability for growth and change.
Shelby understands the unique challenges that children and teens face today. She believes that counseling helps children and teens process their current stressors, and she helps her clients work through those stressors. Her goal is that her clients learn skills to solve their problems in healthy ways–skills that she hopes they will carry with them through adulthood.
Shelby primarily practices from a Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). When using REBT, Shelby helps her clients recognize and change their current beliefs to healthier beliefs and more realistic ways of thinking. Shelby also uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy techniques in her sessions to fit each client’s individual needs.
Shelby has afternoon and evening availability in our Cape Girardeau office.
