Sara Ryan, LCSW
Sara is a family therapist who specializes in working with children, teens, and their families. Sara enjoys working through the sometimes complicated family dynamics and helping her clients resolve core issues within their families. In her individual work with children and teens, Sara has several years of experience working with trauma, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Sara approaches her therapy sessions with an open mind and focuses on seeing things from her client’s perspective. Sara understands that her clients are the experts in their own lives. By building on her client’s strengths, she hopes to empower them with the skills they need to have happy and healthy futures.
Sara uses a combination of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Family Systems therapeutic approaches in her therapy sessions. Sara believes in helping her clients identify thought patterns that are contributing to their current problems. After identifying these thought patterns, Sara frequently utilizes positive self-talk in helping her clients change these thoughts and related behaviors.
