Rachel Thompson MA, PLPC
Rachel is under the supervision of Shannon Anderson. Rachel is a child counselor who specializes in a variety of areas including anxiety, depression, anger management, and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. Rachel enjoys helping her clients grow in their self-esteem and self-worth. She knows how important it is for young people to feel confident in their own skin and empowered to face challenges life throws their way.
When working with her clients, Rachel uses a variety of techniques to best suit her client’s individual needs. Overall, she operates within a Person-Centered mindset, meaning she believes in her client’s unique ability for growth. She believes that with the right support in counseling, her clients are capable of anything.
Rachel approaches her counseling sessions with respect and teamwork in mind. She believes that her clients are the expert in their lives, and she works in collaboration towards their individual counseling goals. Rachel believes that it is her job to ensure that her clients feel supported, trusted, and empowered to create changes in their lives.
Rachel has afternoon, evening, and Saturday availability in our Cape Girardeau office.

Rachel enjoys hiking with her two dogs, kayaking, and spending time with her family.
