Laura Brown MSW, LMSW
Child Counselor
Laura is a child counselor under the supervision of Cecelia Bradley, LCSW. Laura works with children and teens from 3-18 years old. Laura specializes in child counseling for anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment problems.
Additionally, Laura enjoys working with children in the foster care system. Laura understands that when children are placed in foster care, there’s a unique set of needs these children bring to their counseling sessions. Her goal is to help her clients in the foster care system learn to adjust to their new environment and prepare for their future, however varied that may be.
Laura mostly practices from a Solution-Focused therapeutic perspective. Laura’s goal in her sessions is to work collaboratively with her clients to help them come up with solutions to their problems. Laura believes that the counseling process is most useful when both she and her clients are working through the potential solutions together. She believes that both parties can learn through their mutual journey. Laura’s hope is that her clients will complete counseling with her, having the tools and skills they need to solve any problems they may face in the future. She also feels that each client leaves her a little wiser, too!
