Devan Grammer MS, PLPC
Devan is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor under the supervision of Shannon Anderson MA, LPC, NCC. In the initial stages of therapy, Devan believes it is first necessary to build a strong alliance with her clients that includes equality and promotes an environment of respect, a strong sense of safety, and open-mindedness. She believes that helping individuals learn how to become non-blaming, non-judgmental, and compassionate with the self is paramount in the journey to healing.
In her approach to therapy, she will not attempt to “fix” you, she will not pretend to know more about you than you do or assume she knows what is best for you. Instead, as your therapist, it is her genuine effort, to remind you that you are not broken and that you are the expert into your own life and therefore, also your individual recovery. Ultimately, she views therapeutic endeavors as a mutual collaboration between herself and clients on how to discover how to make the hurt you are carrying easier, as well as encouraging all to truly live whilst being their authentic selves.
Devan mostly enjoy working with children, adolescents, and their families having difficulty managing anxiety, depression, and various ranges of trauma.
Devan has afternoon and evening availability in our Cape Girardeau location.
